Aaroe Architectural #24 – Preservation in LA and John Parkinson: Architect of Los Angeles

This month’s Aaroe Architectural presentation will be a two part presentation on two of L.A.’s most architecturally significant topics on Monday, July 15th at the Pacific Design Center – 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 Aaroe Architecturalp.m..

If you are going to attend any of these events, this is the one to attend! Opening the session, Linda Disman, executive Director of the Los Angeles Conservancy will address preservation in LA. You’ll learn first hand how the LA Conservancy works to save buildings and neighborhoods from Richard Neutras Kronish House  to Historic Preservation Overlay Zoned in the City of Los Angeles.

If you are going to attend any of these events, this is the one to attend!

The Second half of the session is a repeat of author Stephen Gee’s presentation on Architect John Parkinson, Architect of Los Angeles. This is one of the biggest kept secrets in LA and Architecturally, the most significant secret to Los Angeles Architecture.

Space is limited so let me know if you’d like to attend by emailing b.road@theroadconnection.com.

Stephen Gee Speaks at Aaroe Architecture Lecture on John Parkinson, Architect of Los Angeles

Architect of Los Angeles, John Parkinson

If you don’t know who John Parkinson is, you are not alone. But what is amazing is the fact that very few in Los Angeles know about probably the most influential and most important Aaroe Architecturalarchitect in Los Angeles history.

The presentation below is by Stephen Gee, an expert on the life and legacy of John Parkinson. If Bullocks Wilshire, The LA Memorial Colosseum, Union Station or LA City Hall are buildings you have admire, then you are admiring the work of John Parkinson. He has just published his new book titled, “Iconic Vision: John Parkinson, Architect of Los Angeles”.

If you are interested in learning more about the Aaroe Architecture series or about how I can help you as an Aaroe Architecture agent with your architecturally significant home, contact me.
