If you a homeowner in the Pasadena area (91101, 91103, 91104, 91105, 91106, 91107) you may be eligible for the Brace and Bolt Program. With this incentive program, homeowners can receive up to $3,000 for an earthquake retrofit.
According to the site, “The Earthquake Brace + Bolt (EBB) program offers homeowners up to $3,000* to cover costs associated with retrofitting their house to lessen earthquake damage.”
Registration will be open from January 15 through February 15, 2015 so hurry up and see if you qualify.

Roughly 400 signs are to be placed around Pasadena to help tourists, drivers and bicyclists navigate their way to Pasadena landmarks and institutions in a $2.2 million project.
You have probably noticed some new signs going up around town. These signs throughout the city began being placed in prominent locations on March 6 and will ultimately number close to 400 through the coming months. Close to a third of the signs will be for pedestrians while the remaining will be geared toward motorists.
“The project’s second and third phases will include additional signs with changeable data that informs motorists of parking spot availability at various garages, plus monument signs marking main entry points into Pasadena,” according to the City.
Some locations highlighted on the way-finding signs are:
Retail areas, public transit and parking garages as well as Old Pasadena, Civic Center, Playhouse District East Pasadena, Hastings Ranch, Arroyo Seco, South Lake districts, The Rose Bowl and Aquatic Center, Norton Simon Museum, Pasadena Convention Center, Pacific Asia Museum, Caltech, Pasadena City College, the Gamble House and Huntington Hospital.
The way-finding signs are funded in pat by METRO and Pasadena city matching funds.
“Pasadena is a world-class destination for business and leisure travel and we want our visitors to enjoy their experience here. The way-finding signs will make it easier for them to find our major destinations and parking,” Pasadena City Manager Michael Beck stated.
