July 2014 Aaroe Market Reports for Pasadena and the Western San Gabriel Valley

The July Pasadena area Aaroe market report for 2014 had a couple of interesting indications:

  1. Inventory is picking up with more homes for sale
  2. Prices are continuing to rise overall
  3. San Marino and South Pasadena prices and inventory have flattened

Buyers are continuing to have a hard time with lack of inventory. Though the Pasadena area summer selling season has brought more inventory, it has also brought more competition. There are still many cash transactions and that trend does not seem to be going away anytime soon.

The threat of rate hikes seems to be subdued at the moment with recent lows in rates. However, as the fed continues to tapper its bond purchases and looks to next year to raise interest rates, mortgage rates are likely to rise in the coming months.

If you want advice on your real estate portfolio or have any questions about what the market is doing, what your property is worth or purchasing a new property, email me at b.road@theroadconnection.com.

Pasadena Drivers Will Now Have ‘Way-Finding’ Signs to Key Pasadena Destinations

Roughly 400 signs are to be placed around Pasadena to help tourists, drivers and bicyclists navigate their way to Pasadena landmarks and institutions in a $2.2 million project.

You have probably noticed some new signs going up around town. These signs throughout the city began being placed in prominent locations on March 6 and will ultimately number close to 400 through the coming months. Close to a third of the signs will be for pedestrians while the remaining will be geared toward motorists.

“The project’s second and third phases will include additional signs with changeable data that informs motorists of parking spot availability at various garages, plus monument signs marking main entry points into Pasadena,” according to the City.

Some locations highlighted on the way-finding signs are:

Retail areas, public transit and parking garages as well as Old Pasadena, Civic Center, Playhouse District  East Pasadena, Hastings Ranch,  Arroyo Seco, South Lake districts, The Rose Bowl and Aquatic Center, Norton Simon Museum, Pasadena Convention Center, Pacific Asia Museum, Caltech, Pasadena City College, the Gamble House and Huntington Hospital.

The way-finding signs are funded in pat by METRO and Pasadena city matching funds.

“Pasadena is a world-class destination for business and leisure travel and we want our visitors to enjoy their experience here. The way-finding signs will make it easier for them to find our major destinations and parking,” Pasadena City Manager Michael Beck stated.
